The Chihuahua (1992-2007)

“Nikki was my first and only dog. Before Nikki, I never really understood how “dog people” seemed to believe that their dogs were a part of their family. Nikki truly was a part of my family. During the 15 years he lived, he was the only constant through multiple life transitions. When he died, I experienced a huge loss and a void. During the past 5 years, I had been trying to decide what to do with his ashes. Then, I heard about Deb and saw some of her work. I knew that was exactly what I wanted for Nikki. While I was amazed at the paintings of other dogs that Deb had done, I never knew those dogs. I was absolutely blown away when I got the painting of Nikki. She had truly captured who he was – his warmth, his personality, and his little quirks. I now keep the painting of Nikki over my fireplace mantel where his ashes once sat. Thank you Deb, Nikki is home!” Monica, Nikki’s mom, Leicester, MA
